In Assam, voting begins for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) comprising five districts- Kokrajhar, Baksa, Chirang, Udalguri and Tamulpur to elect 40 member council. The voting begins at 7:30 am in 3,359 polling stations and is scheduled to end at 4 pm. There are 316 candidates in fray, and the total number of voters stands at 26.69 lakh. The counting of votes will be held on 26th September.
