Assam launches SVEEP Campaigns to boost voter awareness ahead of April 9 Polls

In Assam, to promote informed electoral participation for the April 9 General Assembly Elections, District Administrations are conducting Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiatives across the state.

District administrations are implementing people-centric activities targeting both urban and rural populations, with a special focus on new voters.

In Tinsukia, voter information slips were distributed in tea gardens. The Chirang district administration organised interaction sessions and plantation drives for young voters, while the Nagaon administration conducted campaigns under the theme “Your Vote, Your Right – Do Not Waste It.” In Morigaon, youth were engaged through creative formats like theatre, while the Sonitpur administration is promoting awareness through wall paintings and street plays.

Unique mascots inspired by local culture and biodiversity have also been introduced to attract public attention and encourage voter participation across the state.
