In Assam, home voting for elderly voters above 85 years of age and persons with disabilities has commenced. According to the Election Commission of India, a total of 19,774 elderly voters above 85 years and 6,638 persons with disabilities have been approved by the Returning Officers to avail the home voting facility in the state.
Home voting is currently underway across various constituencies in Assam, as well as in Kerala and Puducherry, and is scheduled to be completed by the 5th of April. As part of the process, polling officials will visit voters at their residences to collect their votes. In cases where a voter is unavailable during the first visit, officials will undertake a second visit. The Election Commission has approved over 2.37 lakh such electors across Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry as of March 30, 2026.
