In Asia Cup Cricket, India defeated Oman by 21 runs in their final Group A match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi last night. Electing to bat first, India posted 188 losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Sanju Samson scored 56, while Abhishek Sharma added a valuable 38. Sanju was declared Player of the Match. In reply, Oman scored 167 for 4 in stipulated 20 overs, with Aamir Kaleem and Hammar Mirza scoring half-centuries.
For India, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Kuldeep Yadav took a wicket each. Arshdeep Singh created history by becoming the first Indian bowler to claim 100 wickets in men’s T20 internationals.
The left-arm pacer got the wicket of Oman batter Vinayak Shukla to achieve the milestone.
The Super 4s stage of the Asia cup will start today with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh face off at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The match will start at 08:00 PM Indian Standard Time. India will take on Pakistan in their first Super 4 encounter tomorrow at the same venue.
