Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw met Norwegian Minister of Digitalisation and Public Governance Karianne Oldernes Tung in New Delhi on Friday. In a social media post, Mr Vaishnaw said they discussed ways to protect children on the Internet and Norway’s inclination in learning from the India Stack.
The Electronics and IT Minister also met Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy of the European Commission Henna Virkkunen. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed advancing the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, deepening semiconductor and electronics collaboration, sharing child-safety practices for social media, and safeguarding content creators.
Mr Vaishnaw also met Fiji Minister for Policing and Communications Ioane Naivalurua and discussed adoption of country’s DPI systems including UPI, Aadhaar, and Digilocker, along with the country’s support for AI skilling and capacity building in Fiji.
In his meeting with CEO of Qualcomm, Cristiano R. Amon at the AI Impact Summit 2026, they discussed India’s design talent and co‑development of technologies, reflecting their commitment to innovation partnerships.
The Electronics and IT Minister also met Executive Vice-President of NVIDIA, Jay Puri. They discussed NVIDIA’s plans to invest in AI models and compute infrastructure, in partnerships with Indian startups and enterprises.
During his meeting with UK’s Minister for AI and Online Safety Kanishka Narayan, Mr Vaishnaw exchanged views on partnership in semiconductors and Research and Development. The Electronics and IT Minister added, Mr Narayan appreciated India’s unmatched talent pool during the meeting.
