Arunachal’s CM Chowna Mein joins Mishmi community in celebrating 56th Tamla Du Festival at Medo in Lohit district

Tamla Du Festival of the Tawran (Digaru) and Kaman (Miju) Mishmi community of Arunachal Pradesh is being celebrated today. During this festival, the Mishmi people offer prayers to the Almighty Lord Jabmalo and to the forces of nature, seeking good health, abundance in newly sown crops and protection from natural calamities.

Arunachal’s Chief Minister Chowna Mein joined the Mishmi community in celebrating the 56th Tamla Du Festival at Medo in Lohit district. He stated that Tamla Du reflects the community’s deep respect for nature, faith, and traditions that have been preserved through generations. Meanwhile, Home Minister Mama Natung joined the Mishmi community in Tezu to celebrate the festival. He urged younger generations to preserve their heritage whilst embracing progress.
