Arunachal Cabinet holds ‘historic’ outdoor meeting in Nyapin

In Arunachal Pradesh, the fourth Outdoor Cabinet Meeting and the first in this tenure of Pema Khandu Government was held at Nyapin in Kurung Kumey District today.

 

The meeting took up 38 agenda items which was the highest in Arunachal Pradesh’s history for discussion and decision-making. Various major decisions were taken by the state cabinet on the occasion, including the approval of “The Arunachal Pradesh Arun Parivar Patra Authority Bill, 2025”, which seeks to establish a family centric citizen data base for the State to streamline the delivery of public welfare schemes and services. The state cabinet also assented to enhance the fixed deposit under Dulari Kanya Scheme from Rs 20,000/- to Rs. 30000/- on the institutional birth of girl child which could be withdrawn on maturity.

Another important decision taken by the Council of Ministers was the establishment of the Institute for Transforming Arunachal. The ITA will serve as the state’s premier policy think tank, providing research-backed advisory support, policy recommendations, and strategic direction to accelerate socio-economic development.

Among others, the state cabinet also approved the Arunachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025 to implement different provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 in the State and to get it introduced and tabled for passing in the ensuing State Legislative Assembly Session.

The first budget session of the third session of the Pema Khandu government will be held from March 7 next month.
