Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer participated as the Chief Guest at the Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram State Foundation Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan in Vijayawada, under the ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ programme.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor praised the rich cultural and natural heritage of the two States. He described Arunachal Pradesh as the “land of dawn-lit mountains”, known for its misty peaks, monasteries, lakes, and vibrant traditions. In Mizoram, he highlighted its 84.5% forest cover and diverse tribal population, noting the popular Mizo Cheraw, or bamboo dance, performed in rhythmic coordination with bamboo poles.
The Governor said the ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ initiative fosters understanding of the culture, traditions, and practices of different States and Union Territories, strengthening national unity and promoting a sense of oneness among citizens.
The programme featured video messages from Mizoram Governor Gen. Vijay Kumar Singh and Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen. Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, followed by traditional folk dance performances by school students from both States.
The event was attended by officials of Lok Bhavan and students from Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh studying in and around Vijayawada.
