Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed preparedness measures to protect people from severe heatwave conditions and high temperatures across the state.
During the review meeting at the state secretariat in Amaravati today, the Chief Minister directed officials to set up tents, cooling centres, supply drinking water, buttermilk and ORS packets at various locations to help people cope with the intense heat. He instructed authorities to declare local holidays in areas recording extreme temperatures and stressed that there should be no disruption in drinking water supply in both rural and urban areas.
The Chief Minister also directed District Collectors to conduct media briefings to create awareness among the public on heatwave conditions and the precautions to be followed during the summer season.
Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and senior officials from the Disaster Management, Health, Municipal Administration and Panchayati Raj departments participated in the review meeting.
