A gas blowout was reported today at the ONGC Mori-5 well in Irusumanda village of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, Andhra Pradesh, located in the Krishna-Godavari basin. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the situation following the gas leak at the ONGC site.

He held discussions with Ministers K. Atchannaidu and V. Subhash, along with senior officials, who briefed him on the ongoing containment and relief efforts. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the safety of villagers, shift them to secure locations, and prevent any inconvenience. He also directed that the fire be brought under control at the earliest and emphasised close coordination between the district administration and ONGC authorities.
