Andhra Pradesh adopted reforms through public-private partnership model: CM Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today addressed the South Asia Learning Summit 2026 on “Transforming AI,” hosted by the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the state has adopted reforms through the public-private partnership (PPP) model. He cited the Jegurupadu power project as a key example. The project has now returned to government control after 30 years. He described it as a successful model. The Chief Minister noted that similar PPP projects have succeeded across the country. He said these initiatives helped create wealth.

On tribal development, Mr Naidu recalled setting up the Naandi Foundation. It was aimed at marketing Araku coffee grown by tribal farmers. He said the chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, is now promoting the brand globally. The Chief Minister spoke about welfare programmes for the poor. He highlighted the P4 initiative.

He said support to the poorest is essential for social and economic progress. He also raised concerns about demographic changes. He said ageing populations are rising globally. The Chief Minister said India may face a similar trend after 2047.

He stressed the need to improve fertility rates, especially in southern states. He said a population management system with incentives is being considered. He emphasised the need to give back to society. He said sustained support is more important than one-time donations.
