In squash, India’s rising star Anahat Singh extended her winning run over veteran compatriot Joshna Chinappa to clinch the women’s title at the HCL Squash Indian Tour 4 in Chennai today. The 17-year-old Anahat outclass former women’s world No. 10 Joshna Chinappa by 3-2 in a gripping 52-minute battle in the final. The two Indian squash players also met in the SRFI Indian Open final last month, where Anahat edged a tight 3-2 victory.
In the men’s category, Top men’s seed Velavan Senthilkumar claimed the title defeating Adam Hawal of Egypt 3-1 in the finals. This was Velavan Senthilkumar’s 10th career title on the PSA Tour. Earlier, The 27-year-old Indian squash player cruised through to the final after defeating seventh seeded Maceo Levy of France 3-1 in the semifinal.
