Amit Shah Visits Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital After Delhi Car Blast

Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital in New Delhi following the car blast near the Red Fort metro station.
 
 
Talking to the media, Mr Shah informed that according to the hospital sources, eight people have died in the incident, and some people are injured and are being treated in the hospital. The Home Minister said that an investigation is being conducted over the incident.
 
 
Mr Shah said that he received a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately after the blast. He informed that a meeting will be held with the senior officials at the Home Ministry tomorrow.
 
 
 
Earlier, speaking to the media, Mr Shah stated that the Centre is exploring all possibilities and will conduct a thorough investigation into the blast. Talking to the media, Mr Shah said all options will be investigated immediately and the results will be presented to the public.
 
 
He informed that the blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at a traffic signal near Red Fort in Delhi. He informed that preliminary reports indicate that some people have lost their lives.
 
 
Mr Shah said that within 10 minutes of receiving the information of the blast, teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch reached the spot.
 
The NSG and NIA teams, along with the forensic team, have begun a thorough investigation. Orders have been given to examine all nearby CCTV cameras.
 
Mr Shah said that he also spoke to the Delhi Commissioner of Police and the Special Branch in charge, who are present at the spot.
