Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that on the occasion of National Unity Day, a grand Unity Parade symbolising Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow at Kevadiya in Gujarat. He added that it will be organised in Ekta Nagar every year on the 31st of October.
Addressing a press conference in Patna, Mr. Shah said the parade will be unique as the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is being celebrated on the 31st of October. He said the Unity Parade will be organised on the lines of the Republic Day Parade, which is held in New Delhi every year. The Home Minister said that, apart from the Central Armed Police Forces, State Police Forces, and artists from across the country will also participate in the event.
Mr. Shah remarked that the parade is dedicated to the police forces for their indomitable bravery and sacrifice. The Home Minister further informed that this year, the Run for Unity will be organised on a wide scale across the country in every State, district, school, and university, encouraging participation from every citizen.
Mr. Shah also announced that a Bharat Parv will be organised at Ekta Nagar from the 1st of November to the 15th of November, marking the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He said the culmination day of Bharat Parv will also mark Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas, featuring special celebrations of tribal culture, ethnic wear, tribal cuisine, and music also mark Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas, featuring special celebrations of tribal culture, ethnic wear, tribal cuisine, and music.
