Over 1.21 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance as Amarnath Yatra proceeds smoothly on day 7

The annual 38-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra that commenced on the 3rd of this month is going on smoothly, peacefully and seamlessly, from twin routes of Nunwan Pahalgam Base Camp in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal Base Camp in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Today is the 7th day of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The Holy cave is known for the ice stalagmite that forms within, resembling a Shivlinga. The Cave is situated at an altitude of 12,756 feet, nestled in the Himalayas in the Kashmir region. Amid religious fervour and passion, over One Lakh Twenty One Thousand yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine till Noon on the 7th day today. Meanwhile, the 8th batch of 7579 Yatris in 302 vehicles left Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Base Camp this morning, towards their respective Base Camps at Nunwan Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

 

The Yatri convoys move under multi-tier security cover all along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway till they reach safely to their respective Base Camps in the Kashmir region safely. Yatris from across the country feel elated and content with all kinds of arrangements, facilities and a secure environment in the Kashmir region. A large number of Yatris are expected to participate in the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra this year.
