Amarnath Yatra continues smoothly; over 10,700 pilgrims proceed, LG Sinha inaugurates Yatri Niwas at Baltal

The annual 38-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra that commenced yesterday is going on smoothly, from twin routes of Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Baltal in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Over 10,700 Yatris were allowed towards the Holy Cave Shrine from both routes today morning towards Pahalgam and Baltal Base Camps in the Kashmir region.

 

A fresh batch of over 6000 pilgrims, in 291 vehicles, was flagged off from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu this morning. 

 

Akashvani correspondent reports that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Yatri Niwas with a capacity for 800 pilgrims, at Baltal Base Camp in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district today. Speaking on the occasion, he said there is an atmosphere of celebration and enthusiasm in the entire J&K for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
