In Assam, all three candidates from the ruling NDA alliance were formally declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha and received their certificates from the Returning Officer yesterday. The three candidates are Jogen Mohan and Terash Gowalla of the BJP, and Pramod Boro of the United People’s Party Liberal.

As there was no withdrawal of candidacy, all three were formally declared elected to the Upper House of Parliament by the Returning Officer. The opposition led by Congress did not fielded any candidates for the Rajya Sabha seats.
