All-Party Delegation Led by Shashi Tharoor Returns After Global Outreach on Terrorism

The last all-parliamentary delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has returned to India today after concluding its successful visits to five nations. The delegation visited the USA, Panama, Guyana, Brazil and Colombia to project India’s national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations. Speaking to media in New Delhi, Mr Tharoor said that the delegation held several meetings during their visit in which they received positive response with regards to their concern.

Referring to Columbia’s earlier statement with regards to Operation Sindoor, which was later withdrawn, Mr Tharoor mentioned that the delegation actually got Columbia to reverse the stand they had taken, perhaps without enough thought.

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, who led Group two of the all-party delegations today said that during their visit, the delegation presented India’s stand on terrorism in several meetings. The delegation visited the UK, France, Germany, the European Union, Italy and Denmark. Talking to the media in New Delhi, Mr Prasad said that the delegation met speakers, parliamentarians, foreign ministers and deputy foreign ministers in different countries. He said that the world needs to understand that Pakistan is in the grip of a military-general nexus whose dirty job is done by the terrorists and terrorist camps.
