The Government has said that all oil refineries in the country are operating at high capacity, with adequate crude inventories in place. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel are also being maintained, with all retail outlets operating normally across the country and adequate stocks available at all petrol pumps. With the Strait of Hormuz remaining closed, The Ministry stated that the Government has taken a series of measures to maintain an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products and LPG across the country. It also noted that delivery of domestic LPG cylinders is normal throughout the country, with no reported dry-out at LPG distributorships.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is closely monitoring shipping movements, port operations and the safety of Indian seafarers while ensuring continuity of maritime trade. It said that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe and no incident involving Indian-flagged vessels has been reported in the past 24 hours. The Ministry added that DG Shipping has facilitated the safe repatriation of over 674 Indian seafarers so far, including 39 in the last 24 hours.
Indian Missions and Posts are maintaining close contact with the Indian community and are continuing to provide assistance, while also issuing appropriate advisories for their safety and well-being. The Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the situation in the Gulf and West Asia region. Flight operations are improving with additional flights from the region; around 4 lakh 50 thousand passengers have returned to India since 28 February.
