In tennis, Carlos Alcaraz reached his seventh consecutive tour-level final by defeating an injured Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-3 at the Cincinnati Open. Alcaraz will face Jannik Sinner in a rematch of this season’s Rome, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon finals.
Earlier, Sinner, the defending champion, beat World No. 136 Terence Atmane 7-6(4), 6-2 to reach his eighth ATP Masters 1000 final.
At 22, Alcaraz becomes the third-youngest player to reach nine Masters 1000 finals, joining Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. With his victory, Alcaraz extended his winning streak to 16 matches at the prestigious level.
