Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said that Akashvani has served not just as a source of entertainment but also as a medium for knowledge enrichment and respect for faith and cultural values. Speaking on the 89th Foundation Day of Akashavani Lucknow, He said that Akashavani has been instrumental in popularizing Hindi dialects and regional languages such as Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Garhwali, and Kumaoni.
The Chief Minister said that the Mann Ki Baat programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Akashvani is a powerful medium for directly connecting with the public. He added that Akashvani has been an excellent platform for delivering reliable news and called it a symbol of public trust.
CEO Prasar Bharti Gaurav Dewedi said that Akashvani Lucknow has given a platform to legendary artists and also played an important role in disseminating information related to central and state government schemes.
Director General of Akashvani, Rajiv Kumar Jain said that Akashvani will continue to uphold its credibility while adopting new technologies to further strengthen its role as a public broadcaster.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated Padma Awardees and senior broadcasters associated with Akashvani Lucknow.
