Airports Authority of India receives DGCA approval for IFR operations at Hisar

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been granted approval by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to operate aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) at Maharaja Agrasen Airport at Hisar in Haryana.

Hisar Airport Director O.P. Saini said that this achievement marks a significant milestone in strengthening the airport’s infrastructure and operational capabilities. Until now, aircraft operations at Hisar Airport were limited to daytime Visual Flight Rules (VFR), but now flights will be possible even at night and in bad weather. He explained that aircraft will now be able to land safely even in low visibility of approximately 1,200 meters, as compared to the previous minimum requirement of 5,000 metres. He said that Hisar Airport will now also be able to handle flights diverted from Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi) and Jaipur International Airport. This will reduce flight diversions and cancellations and provide a significant boost to Haryana’s regional connectivity, he added.
