AIMS Mohali Sets Asia Record for Largest Yoga Session by Healthcare Professionals on Yoga Day

In Punjab, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS Mohali) set a new Asia Book of Records title for the largest yoga session by healthcare professionals on the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, today.


Director Principal, AIMS Medical College, Dr Bhavneet Bharti, told our Jalandhar correspondent that 3,003 participants, including doctors, MBBS students, nursing students, paramedics and healthcare professionals, took part in this event.

Earlier, PGI, Chandigarh, was holding the Asia Book of Records with a participation of 1924 healthcare staff last year.
The day was celebrated with much enthusiasm across the state.


In Chandigarh, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, led the yoga day celebrations.


Whereas, Border Security Force (BSF), the first line of defence celebrated the IYD under the theme “Ek Prithvee, Ek Swaasthya Ke Liye Yog”, at the Attari Joint Check Post by involving residents of border villages in Amritsar.


Inspector General of BSF Punjab Frontier, Dr. Atul Fulzele said that the event was also aimed at uniting BSF troops with residents of border villages.
