AIIMS Delhi hails Union Budget 2026-27 for health focus

All Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has hailed the emphasis on health in the Union Budget 2026-27. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, media cell head and professor in AIIMS, Dr Rima Dada said that budget allocation for AIIMS has increased to more than 5,000 crore rupees, which is a significant step in the progress of patient-centric services, infrastructure, medical education and research
 
 
She said that this budget will support the construction of two new blocks in the institute, including a new critical care block and a new service block. Highlighting the cancer cases at a young age in the country, Dr Rima said that the basic custom duty exemption on 17 drugs and medicines for cancer patients in this year’s budget is an important step by the government.
