AIIMS advises patients suffering from kidney ailments to regularly monitor blood pressure amid cold wave

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, has advised patients suffering from kidney ailments to regularly monitor their blood pressure amid cold wave conditions. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News, Professor of the Department of Nephrology Sandeep Mahajan at AIIMS New Delhi said that patients having above normal blood pressure must consult a doctor and check for any changes in their prescription. He also advised exercising regularly during cold weather.
 
Rajesh Khadgawat, Professor of the Department of Endocrinology, advised that diabetic patients must avoid walking outdoors during early morning hours in severe cold weather. He added that any physical activities may be done during the day under adequate sunlight. He also advised against consuming food with extra fat for such patients.
