Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually inaugurated the new administrative and academic building of the College of Horticulture, Sikkim, in New Delhi today. Addressing the media, Mr Singh said that this 52 crore rupees worth project will show a new direction for the students, farmers of Sikkim and the entire North-East region.
He added that students will not only learn crop production techniques but will also gain in-depth knowledge about processing, packaging, marketing, and export. The Minister also said that the campus will prepare the state to become a role model for a green economy.
