In Afghanistan, six people were killed and 11 others injured after strong winds, floods and thunderstorms struck Kandahar, Herat, Ghor and Takhar provinces overnight. According to the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), roads, wells, agricultural land, trees and hundreds of solar panels were destroyed due to strong winds and thunderstorms. ANDMA spokesman Mohammad Yousuf Hamad said, 20 houses were completely destroyed.
Since 26th March, 250 people have been killed, 344 others injured and 17,000 families have been affected by various natural disasters in Afghanistan. On May 11, the International Organisation for Migration, IOM said that around 2,000 families have been affected by the recent floods in Nangarhar province.
