Active public participation key to successful progress of Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll

The active public participation is playing a key role in the successful progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll being carried out across the country. In Puducherry too, the exercise is proceeding smoothly with enthusiastic involvement from voters.

Many residents have been readily filling and submitting the required forms as part of the ongoing SIR process.
In this context, Mrs. Rajalakshmi, a voter from Radhakrishnan Nagar under the Kadirgamam Constituency, shared her experience.

“The BLO first came and gave us a form, instructing us to affix a photograph. After four days, she came back and guided us through the entire process of form filling. Two forms were given-one she filled and took back, and the other was given to us. Voters should not see this as an inconvenience. As responsible citizens, it is our duty to get our names enrolled in the voters’ list through the SIR process. BLOs will definitely help you, but you must cooperate with them.”
