Maharashtra has consistently powered India’s progress and has emerged as a major centre of the nation’s development journey, driven by its strength in industry, agriculture, entrepreneurship, higher education and rich cultural heritage, said Droupadi Murmu. She added that the goal is inclusive and holistic growth that reaches every citizen, and in this context, the initiative organised by Brahma Kumaris is significant, as it will inspire inner peace, positive energy and value-based development.
The President was speaking at the launch of the state-level campaign “A Golden Era for Maharashtra through Unity and Trust”, aimed at strengthening social unity, mutual trust and positive values. The campaign was inaugurated at the Vishwashanti Sarovar in Jamtha, near Nagpur.
In her address, President Murmu said Maharashtra has given the nation great visionaries such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Lokmanya Tilak and Dr B. R. Ambedkar, whose life values continue to guide the country. She noted that the movement for mass education and women’s empowerment led by Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule became the foundation of social renaissance across India.
The event was attended by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat, Rajyogi B.K. Mrutyunjay Bhai and Rajyogini B.K. Chandrika Didi from the Brahma Kumaris headquarters at Mount Abu, State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and other dignitaries.
Under the campaign, special emphasis will be laid on promoting a drug-free society, a balanced lifestyle, cleanliness, value-based education, yoga, environmental protection and social harmony.
