External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar has said that a developed India’s foreign policy must be ambitious, with long-term, horizon-expanding plans. He stressed the need to include as many friendly nations as possible to further strengthen India’s global position. Addressing students at the 22nd Convocation Ceremony of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University in Pune, Dr Jaishankar called upon the youth, especially students, to become the main drivers of the nation’s progress in achieving the goal of “Developed India @2047”.
Dr Jaishankar was the Chief Guest at the ceremony. The External Affairs Minister also noted that in the present times, there is significant pressure and stress across sectors such as technology, capital and investment. He emphasised that India needs to place greater focus on enhancing its manufacturing capabilities, technological growth and overall capacity building to meet future challenges.
