The Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala, Rathan U Kelkar, has said, as on 18th November, 97% of the enumeration forms have been distributed in the state as part of the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls. On the other hand, the Kerala Government has approached the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the Election Commission to defer the conduct of Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) of the electoral rolls of the State. The State informed that the conduct of the SIR process from November 4 to December 4 would coincide with the elections to the local body polls to be held in Kerala during December this year.
