7th batch of 7,541 pilgrims leaves Jammu for Amarnath Yatra amid tight security

Under strict security arrangements, another batch of 7541 pilgrims, that is the 7th batch from Jammu, left Bhagwati Nagar  Yatri Niwas base camp for the Kashmir valley to perform pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave Shrine. The pilgrims left the base camp in a cavalcade of 309 vehicles early this morning. The batch included 5516 Men, 1765 Women, 39 Children, 221 Sadhus and Sadhvis. Of these, 3321 pilgrims left for Baltal base camp in the wee hours today and 4220 for Pahalgam base camp from where they will proceed for their further journey to the holy cave. Meanwhile, the yatra is going on smoothly. With 23,857 devotees performing darshan yesterday in the holy cave, the number of pilgrims having darshan during the first six days has gone over 93 thousand, and the figure is set to cross the 1 lakh mark today.
