7th All India Conference of Government Railway Police Chiefs concludes in New Delhi today

The 7th All India Conference of Government Railway Police Chiefs concluded in New Delhi today. The Ministry of Railways said that the conference was aimed at enhancing the security of passengers, railway infrastructure and operations in view of emerging security challenges.
 
The conference laid special emphasis on the prevention of narcotics and drug trafficking through proactive surveillance and real-time intelligence sharing. It also highlighted the need for wider adoption of modern technologies, including Facial Recognition System-based CCTV cameras, AI-enabled video analytics and drone surveillance, to strengthen railway security. During the deliberations, discussions focused on tackling the menace of stone-pelting and sabotage. Regular mock drills were emphasised as essential to ensure preparedness and a coordinated response during emergencies. The Ministry said that the outcomes of the conference are expected to contribute to a more resilient, responsive and technology-enabled security system for Indian Railways.
