Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, under the Ministry of Culture, is organising the sixth edition of Nadi Utsav in Delhi starting today. The three-day event will highlight rivers as vital lifelines and cultural reservoirs.

Delivering the inaugural address, Union Minister for Jal Shakti C R Patil said that it is the collective responsibility of the citizens to protect and conserve the rivers. Mr Patil said that the Namami Gange project highlights the need to maintain cleanliness, avoid encroachment and take steps to avoid polluting the country’s sacred rivers, as these carry religious and cultural importance.
