Japan: Several injured in 6.4 magnitude earthquake, warning issued for further tremors

In Japan, several people have been injured after a 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck Shimane Prefecture and neighboring Tottori Prefecture in western part of the country yesterday. Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said, the temblor occurred in eastern Shimane Prefecture at a depth of about 10 kilometres. Later, two more aftershocks, measuring magnitude 5.1 and 5.4, hit the same area.
JMA said there is no tsunami risk, but warns that earthquakes up to upper-5 intensity could continue for about a week, with the highest risk in the next two to three days. It also cautioned about increased risks of landslides and falling rocks in harder-hit areas.
