57 Jharkhand Stations to be Developed as AMRIT Bharat Stations

Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw addressed the media regarding the budget allocation for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 for various railway divisions across the country. Briefing the railway divisions in Jharkhand, he mentioned that Railways has invested 60,000 crore rupees in Jharkhand. Mr. Vaishnaw further stated that Jharkhand has achieved 100% rail network electrification and more than 1,311 kilometers of railway track have been constructed in Jharkhand, which is greater than the entire rail network of the UAE.

 

Jharkhand has received a share allocation of Rupees 7302 crores in the Union budget by the Railway Ministry for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26. Comparing with the annual average budget of Rupees 457 crores received during the years 2009-2014, the new budget allocation received in the period 2014-2025 is almost 16 times more than that. Around 1,311 km of new tracks have been constructed in Jharkhand since 2014, while 100 percent electrification of railway network has been achieved. At present work on 34 projects is ongoing in Jharkhand at a cost of Rs 56,694 crore rupees. Along with this, redevelopment work of Ranchi Hatia and Tatanagar Jamshedpur stations is also being done at a cost of Rs 1,147 crores. 57 stations of Jharkhand state are being developed as AMRIT Bharat stations. Along with this, 12 Vande Bharat trains cross through 22 unique stations passing through 14 districts of the state.
