4.7 magnitude earthquake hits parts of Maharashtra; tremors felt in Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani districts

A mild earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale was felt today at around 8:45 AM across Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani districts in Maharashtra. The tremors were experienced in many areas of the Nanded district, such as Nanded city, Ardhapur, Mudkhed, Loha, Naigaon, Hadgaon, and Himayatnagar talukas. As the tremors were felt, residents in both urban and rural areas rushed out of their homes in panic.

No casualties recorded so far. According to the administration, the epicentre of the earthquake was located north of Shirli village in Vasmat taluka of Hingoli district. District authorities from Hingoli, Parbhani, and Nanded have appealed to citizens not to panic and to avoid believing in rumours.
