Thirty three Indian fishermen were freed from Sri Lankan prisons. The fishermen from Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Kottaipattinam and Rameswaram who were in Sri Lankan prisons were arrested on 3rd November.

They were given emergency certificates by the Indian Embassy officials to travel back to India as they were not Indian passport holders.
