Twenty-six Western allies have officially pledged to deploy troops by land, sea, or air in Ukraine after the conflict with Russia ends. French President Emmanuel Macron made this announcement after a summit of 35 nations supporting Ukraine, dubbed the ‘Coalition of the Willing.’
Macron said, 26 countries committed to deploying troops in Ukraine or to maintaining a presence on land, at sea, or in the air to help guarantee the country’s security, the day after a ceasefire or peace is achieved.
Earlier, Macron and other European leaders met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US peace envoy Steve Witkoff to discuss long-term military support and continued American backing after the conflict. Macron added that while there’s no confirmed US troop involvement yet, Washington’s support for the coalition will be finalised soon.
