Two youths lost their lives, and another one was critically injured after being swept away by water at Tarkarli Beach in Sindhudurg district. The tragic incident occurred this afternoon when five youths from Hadsapur in Pune had come to visit the beach and had entered the sea to swim.

Unfortunately, three of them were suddenly swept away by the water. The rescue team managed to pull them out and rushed them to Malvan Rural Hospital for medical treatment. Shubham Sushil Sonawane (22) and Rohit Balasaheb Koli (21), both residents of Hadapsar, Pune, were declared dead. The third youth, Omkar Ramchandra Bhosale (23), is in critical condition.
