In Maharashtra, two youths drowned in the Pali Bhutivali dam on the Karjat-Neral road of Mumbai yesterday. Our correspondent reports, three youths from Mumbai-Govandi visited the irrigation project in Pali Bhutivali in Karjat as tourists yesterday evening, when two of them drowned while bathing as they did not anticipate the depth water.
Local tribals, with the help of the Neral police personnel, pulled them out of the water and took them to a local hospital, where they were declared dead.
Earlier this month, another tourist drowned in the Pashane dam. The issue of the dam’s safety has come to the fore as tourists continue to come despite it being a prohibited area.
