In Tamil Nadu, the Joseph Vijay-led cabinet will be expanded with two more ministers to be added today. The coalition Government will have Vanniarasu of the VCK, elected from the Tindivanam Assembly constituency and A.M. Shahjahan of the IUML elected from the Papanasam Constituency. State Governor Vishwanath Arlekar will administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the ministers at Lok Bhavan at ten in the morning. With the newly sworn-in Ministers, the cabinet will have 35 members in it.
The VCK led by Thirumavalavan, MP, a long time ally of the DMK, nominated Vanniarasu to become a part of the cabinet. This is the first time that VCK gets a ministerial berth. A.M.Shajahan from the IUML was nominated to become part of the Government after consent from the headquarters at Kerala yesterday. Both parties with two MLAs each had offered support in the formation of the TVK Government led by Joseph Vijay. Apart from Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, the State cabinet will have 34 members in it.
