1st phase of Naval Commanders’ Conference 2026 concludes in New Delhi

The first phase of the Naval Commanders’ Conference 2026 concluded in New Delhi today. Defence Ministry said that the four-day conference served as a key platform for a comprehensive review of the Indian Navy’s operational and materiel preparedness, infrastructure, logistics, and human resource initiatives. It also assessed the prevailing operational environment in the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
 
During the conference, the Indian Navy Maritime Security Strategy was released by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi. On the sidelines of the conference, Admiral Tripathi also hosted ‘Sagar Manthan’. It added that the forum enabled discussions between the Navy’s top leadership and subject matter experts on reforming defence research and development, and enhancing capability development through greater participation of the industry.
