The 17th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, will be held in Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu. The week-long camp aims to provide exposure to 200 tribal youth from Left Wing Extremism-affected districts of Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra, offering them an opportunity to experience different parts of the country and understand India’s cultural diversity.
The programme will be inaugurated on Friday by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, R. N. Ravi. Speaking to the press in Chennai, Regional Director of MY Bharat, Mr. S. Senthil Kumar, said that for many participants, this will be their first experience travelling by train. The programme is designed to promote national integration and cultural understanding. Participants will engage in cultural exchange activities and will also receive briefings on skill development initiatives. The students will visit various industries in the district to learn about employment opportunities and career prospects.
