165th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore Observed with Cultural Fervour in Tripura

The 165th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was observed across Tripura with profound dignity and cultural enthusiasm, marked by a state-level ceremony at Rabindra Kanan in Agartala, where Minister of Commerce and Industries Santana Chakma, Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, and ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya offered floral tributes. Organized by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA), the Agartala event featured vibrant Rabindra Sangeet and dance performances, while similar celebrations resonated in Sepahijala district, specifically at Melaghar, where local dignitaries, including Chairperson Anamika Ghoshpal Roy and SDM Prabir Saha, joined a commemorative gathering highlighted by live paintings and discussions on Tagore’s philosophy aimed at inspiring the youth. The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee also observed the day at Congress Bhavan, paying homage to the Nobel Laureate’s multifaceted legacy.
