Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh today said about 1,600 rules which were not Citizen-Centric have been done away with by the Government in the last 11 years. Inaugurating the two-day national conference on ‘Good Governance Practices’ jointly organised by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances of the Central Government and Odisha Government at Bhubaneswar this afternoon, Dr Singh emphasized good governance to simplify citizens’ lives through transparency, anti-corruption measures, and streamlined administration, leading to ‘ease of governance’ and ‘ease of living’. The two-day conference aims to highlight innovative practices that have received national recognition under the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.
