The Central Government has released the 15th Finance Commission Grants during Financial Year 2025-26, for Panchayati Raj Institutions and Rural Local Bodies in Assam.

It entails second instalment of untied grants of the financial year 2025-26 amounting to over 256 crore rupees. The funds are for all eligible District Panchayats, Block Panchayats, Gram Panchayats and Autonomous District Councils.

Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in a statement, said that over 42 crore rupees of the withheld portion of 1st instalment of the untied grant for the current fiscal has also been released to additionally eligible Autonomous District Councils.
