15 people killed and several injured in bus accident in Udhampur district

In Jammu and Kashmir, 15 people were killed, and several others were injured after a bus met with an accident in Udhampur district. Officials said the incident occurred near Jalo village on the Rajnagar-Udhampur road. 
 
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed his deep anguish and grief over the tragic accident. In a social media post, Mr Sinha paid his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He said he has directed the district administration, Police, SDRF and Health Department to provide every possible assistance to affected people. Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Lok Sabha MP from Kathua-Udhampur Jitendra Singh said he spoke to the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur shortly after learning about the tragic accident at village Kanote, involving a public transport bus travelling from Ramnagar to Udhampur. He added that rescue operations were launched immediately, and all possible assistance is being provided. The minister said he is in constant touch with the local administration as well as local teams.
