The 10th Armed Forces Veterans Day is being observed across the country today. As part of the celebrations, the Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area commemorated Veterans Day at the Military Station in Nava Raipur.
During the programme, twenty-nine Veer Naris and Veer Matas were felicitated. More than five hundred ex-servicemen and their family members took part in the event.
On this occasion, outreach programmes were organised in all districts of Chhattisgarh.
It may be noted that Armed Forces Veterans Day is observed every year on the 14th of January in honour of Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.
