108 Maoists Surrender in Chhattisgarh, Police Recover Weapons and Cash

In Chhattisgarh, as many as 108 Maoists surrendered today, including 44 women cadres. The Maoists surrendered before senior police officials in Jagdalpur, the divisional headquarters of the Bastar region. A total reward of three crore twenty-nine lakh rupees had been announced on these Maoist cadres. They were active in various districts of the Bastar division.
 
 
Based on information provided by the surrendered Maoists, police have also recovered several weapon dumps hidden by the extremists at different locations. These include seven AK-47 rifles, four Light Machine Guns, eleven Barrel Grenade Launchers and a total of 101 weapons.
 
 
In addition, cash amounting to about three crore sixty lakh rupees and one kilogram of gold, which had been concealed by the Maoists at a location, has also been recovered. According to official information, since 1 January 2024, a total of 2,625 Maoists in the Bastar division have surrendered and joined the mainstream of society.
